New exhibitions over the world

Exhibitions produced by the Nobel Museum are not only on display in Stockholm, but can be seen all over the world.

Sketches of Science is now entering its third year travelling the world with a second destination in the US. Opening on March 5th in House of Sweden in Washington D.C., the exhibition lets the visitor meet the Nobel Laureates in a surprising setting. Being given a sheet of paper and crayons they were asked to sketch their work; sketches together with which they were photographed. In the exhibition we see both active and distanced, both funny and dry Nobel Laureates depicted with their own interpretations of their work. The photographs are accompanied with texts and interviews with the Laureates in which they expand on their ideas.

Sketches of Science is not the only exhibition on show in the US. Since January, and continuing all spring, Nobel Creations – Inspired by the Nobel Prize can be seen at the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis. With yet another unusual approach to the Nobel Prizes, a collaboration between museum curators, fashion designers and composers have produced artistic interpretations of the 2013 Nobel Prizes. A recurring project at the Nobel Museum, this marks the first time that it is shown outside of Sweden.
