57 years after the death of Boris Pasternak, Nobel Laureate in Literature 1958, his great-granddaughter Vera Kovalskaya donated his death mask and a cast of his right hand to the Nobel museum.

The 2016 Nobelprize in Physiology or Medicin was unshared awarded the cellbiologist Professor Yoshinori Ohsumi for showing how living cells can break down and recycle their own components. The phenomenon is called autophagy which means “self eating”.

Ohsumi donated two different objects to the Nobelmuseum: one miniature model of himself and some protein molecule models.

Nobel Creations: Inspired by the Nobel Prize has made its U.S. debut at the American Swedish Institute (ASI) in Minneapolis, MN, USA to much acclaim. It can be seen until May 26th.

The Nobel Museum have since 2006 produced exhibitions where book binders are invited to interpret Nobel Laureates in Literature. In this year's exihibiton, Alice Munro and Mo Yan are interpreted by Swedish, Canadian and Chinese book binders.

Fashion students at Beckmans College of Design have made their interpretations of this year’s Nobel prizes. The creations are at the same time suggestions of how formal dress can be renewed and relate to a modern dress code. The project also explores what unites Nobel laureates and fashion designers – namely creativity.

The swedish director and science journalist Martin Widman has made a thrilling documentary regarding the start of human warfare. This movie premiere is part of the Film&Science-festival. Specially invited to the movie premiere is the well known american anthropologist Douglas Fry who will give us his view on the subject. He works at Åbo University and has made several thorough studies regarding aggression, conflicts and conflict solving. He is also head editor for the journals Journal of Aggression and Conflict and Peace Research.

On Tuesday May 22 2012 Professor Oliver Sacks was invited by the Nobel Museum in Stockholm to hold a lecture in Börssalen. The lecture was called "Narrative and Medicine: The Case History" and the audience listened attentively as Professor Sacks picked and chose from his long and fascinating career as a neurologist and writer.

The meeting of Tomas Tranströmers poetry and Georg Riedels music sounded very promising indeed and there was certainly excitement in the air!

On December 1, 2011, the Nobel Foundation and the City of Stockholm signed a declaration of intent to work jointly towards the creation of a permanent Nobel Prize Center, to be located on Nybroviken, an inlet of the Baltic Sea in the heart of Stockholm, Sweden.
